New Audience Symposia
1000+ Concerts introduces a series of "New Audience Symposia", conducted digitally throughout the project period.
To these occasions, representatives from all partner organisations, participating social institutions, and the research teams will engage in dialogues covering three distinctive fields:
I – The special education school as a concert hall
II – The psychiatric hospital as a concert hall and
III – The prison as a concert hall
These gatherings aim to connect participating social institutions from a particular field (special education schools, psychiatric hospitals, prisons), yet from various countries, and invite their staff members to a proactive dialogue with the project’s representatives as well as members of the research teams, in order to share experiences, feedback, critiques, and observations after concerts took place in their institution.
Topics explored include health benefits for audiences, attention quality/improvement, and the impact on relationships within diverse settings such as children/teachers, patients/doctors, and prisoners/prison staff following a concert. On selected occasions, individuals from organisations outside of the project and involved in Musethica activities will be invited as well, in order to broaden the knowledge exchange (France, Israel, Singapore).
A symposium will be held once a year for each field, resulting in 12 events in total.
The first New Audience Symposium will take place on February 20th, 2025 at 18h00 CET.
For the first time, international experts from social institutions will come together to share their experiences with (Musethica) concerts at schools with special educational needs. Among other things, they will shed light on the effects of the concerts and share exciting insights into similarities and differences between the venues - even in different countries.
The discussion will be moderated by Musethica founder Avri Levitan.
The digital event is open for invited participants. Contact us at 1000PlusConcerts@musethica.org to receive the meeting information.
