1000+ Trees

Supporting Climate Protection Through Music and Forestry

Aligning with the European Green Deal, Musethica and its consortium partners in the joint project "1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education Through Social Impact" are collectively committed to contributing to carbon reduction goals and promoting active climate protection.

Together with EcoTree, we make a humble yet impactful contribution to support sustainable forestry and the preservation of biodiversity in Europe: For each concert played as part of the EU co-financed initiative 1000+ Concerts, we fund the planting of a tree:

1000+ Concerts = 1000+ Trees!

Through this four-year commitment, the project facilitates the reforestation of climate-resilient mixed forests over an area of 10,000 square meters (one hectare) of land in the Harz Mountains, Germany. In doing so, we contribute to the goals of enhancing climate-resilient forest adaptation and improving water storage and CO2 sequestration capacities within the affected ecosystem.

As Europe's market leader in nature-based solutions, EcoTree empowers individuals and companies to support environmental projects focused on the protection, sustainable management, and restoration of ecosystems across Europe.

Over the past five years, the Harz region has lost up to 5% of its tree stock due to prolonged droughts. This makes existing trees more at risk, especially since most of the area consists of monocultures that are not very resilient to such environmental stresses.

Commitment To Sustainable Practices In 1000+ Concerts Project Management

The consortium partners of the ‘1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education Through Social Impact’ project commit to adopting sustainable practices and to contribute, within our capabilities, to fostering a cultural shift in line with the global sustainability goals. We acknowledge the UN Agenda 2030 and aim to further anchor the topics of sustainability, cultural diversity, and climate protection. Our goal is to reduce the environmental impact of our activities, focusing on three key areas: mobility, resource use, and waste reduction.
